Oluwakemi Ugwu
Managing Director & CEO
Kemi holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin and a Masters in Information Technology from the University of Lagos. She served as a pioneer youth corp member in Adesoye College, Offa in 1997 and was retained. Kemi became the pioneer Computer Officer before joining Access Bank in 2000 as an Assistant Database Administrator. Kemi was redeployed as the pioneer Acting Head of Cash Management Unit and was later made the pioneer Unit Head (Relationship Manager) for the Insurance desk in the Financial Institutions Department. She joined UBA in 2005 and was seconded to UBA Pensions same year as the Pioneer Head of the Information and Communication Department a position she held for over 12 years before her redeployment as Head Contributions Processing. She is currently the Managing Director & CEO of NUPEMCO. Kemi has also attended several professional courses and training programmes at various levels and is an alumnus of the Senior Management Programme of Lagos Business School.

Raliat Abubakar is the Head of the Customer Care Department at NUPEMCO and holds a B.Sc in Microbiology and MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She oversees all customer service operations to ensure prompt, professional, and client-focused engagement. With over a decade of experience in Nigeria’s pension industry, she has developed a deep understanding of customer expectations and service delivery standards. Her leadership is instrumental in driving customer retention, building loyalty, and promoting a service culture rooted in empathy and responsiveness.
She is passionate about creating exceptional client experiences and continuously improving service processes to align with NUPEMCO’s commitment to excellence.
Aliyu Atiku serves as Executive Director, Operations and Information Communication Technology at NUPEMCO. Contributing over two decades of experience in ICT, digital transformation, and corporate governance.
He holds a degree in Computer Science from ATBU and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Cumbria, UK. Aliyu has held strategic positions including Chief Technology Officer at Sigma Pensions and Head of IT at Premium Pension. He is certified in CGEIT, Six Sigma, and ISO/IEC 27001.
His leadership is marked by successful implementations of IT governance, infrastructure overhaul, and enterprise applications that align with organizational goals. His mission is to ensure NUPEMCO remains digitally agile and operationally resilient.
Stanley Ihi's Igbinedion
Chief Financial Officer
Stanley Ihi’s Igbinedion is NUPEMCO’s Chief Financial Officer. Offering more than two decades of experience in pension fund administration.
He earned both a BSc and MSc in Accounting and Finance from Ahmadu Bello University. Stanley is a chartered accountant and a senior associate of the Risk Managers Association of Nigeria. His career is distinguished by deep expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance within the pensions industry.
He has played a key role in driving transparency and fiscal discipline at NUPEMCO, and his on going commitment is to reinforce financial systems that support the company’s long-term vision.
Abubakar Mohammed
Head, Business Development
Abubakar Mohammed is the Head of Business Development at NUPEMCO. He is a graduate of Geography from the University of Maiduguri and holds a postgraduate diploma in Management from the University of Calabar and a Master’s in international Affairs and Diplomacy (MIAD) from Ahmadu BelloUniversity, Zaria. He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Institute of Personnel Management, and Institute of Public Relations.
As the Head of Business Development, he is responsible for managing client relationships, stakeholder engagement, and public sector coordination. He has over two decades of experience spanning government, consulting, and administration. Abubakar plays a vital role in expanding NUPEMCO’s institutional reach and strengtheningits operational partnerships.
Samaila Bitrus Ndangra, PhD
Head HR/Admin
Samaila Bitrus Ndangra, leads the Human Resources and Administration Department at NUPEMCO.
With over 20 years of experience, he has contributed significantly to strategic human capital management andinstitutional reforms. He holds a BSc in Public Administration, an MSc’s in Rural Development and Public Administration from Federal University of Technology, Yola and University of Jos respectively. He went on to obtain a PhD in Development Administration from the University of Jos. Before joining NUPEMCO, he served at the National Universities Commission and as a lecturer at multiple academic institutions.
Dr. Ndangra is focused on fostering a professional and productive work force that supports NUPEMCO’s service delivery goals.
Emmanuel Thomas
Executive Director
Emmanuel Thomas is the Executive Director overseeing Finance and Investment at NUPEMCO.
He holds a BSc from Ahmadu Bello University and an MSc in Accountancy from Babcock University. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, he brings nearly 30 years of financial expertise. His career includes key roles such as Chief Finance Officer at Uniswitch Technology and Head of Investment and Fund Administration at First Guarantee Pension. He has participated in international training on leadership, finance, and risk management.
At NUPEMCO, his focus is on sustainable growth, regulatory compliance, and optimizing investment outcomes for stakeholders.
Oluwadamilola Deborah Shajobi-Oseghale, PhD
Company Secretary-Legal Adviser
Oluwadamilola Deborah Shajobi Oseghale is the Company Secretary and Legal Adviser at NUPEMCO. She holds an LLB from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and a BL from the Nigerian Law School. She also holds an MA in human resources management and LLM from Middle sex University Business School, London, UK and University of Abuja respectively. She went on to obtain a PhD in Law from the University of Abuja. Oluwadamilola is anassociate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development(CIPD), UK, and a member of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (UK)and the Nigerian Bar Association. She is a certified Corporate Governance Consultant with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries. Her broad experience spans regulatory compliance, contract management, and organizational ethics. Prior to joiningNUPEMCO she worked in the Industrial and Labour Relations Division under theExecutive Secretary’s Office at the National Universities Commission. At NUPEMCO, she ensures that all corporate operations align with legal best practices and supports board activities with sound legal counsel.
Hussaini Wada
Head, Internal Audit
Hussaini Wada heads the Internal Audit Department at NUPEMCO, bringing over 20 years of experience in audit and financial oversight.
He holds a BSc in Economics from Bayero University Kano and an MSc in Business Administration from the National Open University of Nigeria. As a Certified National Accountant and member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, his professional expertise spans financial reporting, risk management, and fraud prevention. Hussaini previously worked at Sigma Pensionsin fund accounting and benefit administration.
His approach emphasizes internal accountability and robust control mechanisms that promote transparency across all departments.
Lawal Magaji
Head, Information & Communication Technology
Lawal Magaji is the Headof Information and Communication Technology at NUPEMCO.
He has more than 20years of IT experience in both academic and pension sectors. A graduate of Computer Science from Usmanu Danfodiyo University and an MSc from Jamia Hamdard University, India. Lawal has led several digital transformation initiatives including pension core application deployments, ISO compliance frameworks, and infrastructure modernization.
He holds certifications in ISO 27001, EC-CouncilCHFI, and MCSA, among others, and is a Lagos Business School alumnus. His mission is to align technology with NUPEMCO’s strategic objectives through innovative, secure solutions.
Cynthia Gayya
Head, Operations Department
Cynthia Gayya is the Head of Operations at NUPEMCO. She is a graduate of Business Management from University of Jos and holds an MBA in Business Management from the National Open University. She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management. With over 20 years in pension administration and business operations.
At NUPEMCO, she is instrumental in managing contributions, compliance, and customer engagement. She started her career at Express Portfolio Services and was a pioneer of Legacy Pension Managers. She has also undergone leadership training focused on team effectiveness and service delivery. Her focus is on process efficiency, data accuracy, and customer satisfaction across operational activities.
Lwanga Agbata
Head, Benefits Administration
Lwanga Agbata serves as Head of Benefits Administration at NUPEMCO. He holds a degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University and is an Associate member of ICAN, CIPM, and RIMAN.
His experience spans more than two decades in accounting, consulting, and pension processing. Prior to NUPEMCO, he worked at Trustfund Pensions in benefits and customer service. His responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely disbursement of retirement benefits and maintaining strict compliance with industry regulations.
Lwanga is committed to enhancing service delivery through process optimization and staff capacity development.
Oputa Ifeanyichukwu Danny
Head, Risk Managment
Oputa Ifeanyichukwu Danny heads Risk Management at NUPEMCO. He holds a BSc in Accounting from theUniversity of Abuja. He is amember of the Institute of Chartered Risk Management and possesses certifications including Chartered Risk Manager (CRMI), ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, ISO 27032 Cybersecurity Manager, and Certified Trainer (PECB). Before joining NUPEMCO in 2019, he held several risk management roles at Premium Pension.
Oputa is responsible for safe guarding the organization through strategic risk assessments, internal controls, and cybersecurity governance. He aims to elevate NUPEMCO’s resilience by proactively managing threats and aligning risk policies with business objectives.
Mustapha Adegbenga Hammed
Head, Investment
Mustapha Adegbenga Hammed is the Head of Investment at NUPEMCO. He holds a B.Tech in Agricultural Economics from LAUTECH and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, an authorized dealing clerk of the Nigerian Exchange, and an Associate of ACCA. Mustapha’s career spans more than 13 years in equities trading, portfolio management, and investment research.
At NUPEMCO, he leads efforts to optimize asset allocation, ensure regulatory compliance, and achieve long-term growth through disciplined investment strategies.
